The inaugural RHS Fun Day was held on Saturday 7 June to raise money for a variety of School events, trips and charities. More than £1,500 was raised for the 2015 Uganda expedition; a BBQ and tuck shop raised funds for forthcoming sports tours and money was also raised for Mr Coleman’s charity sponsored walk to Birmingham at the end of the month.
There was something for everyone with some pupils showing their creativity at the tie dye stall, others revealing their competitive nature at the pillow bash, or go karts, and many more simply enjoying the live music and cakes on Howe green. The afternoon was a huge success and Mrs Stevens would like to thank the Uganda team for their hard work and positive attitude in what was a long and tiring day. Thanks must also go to all of the staff who gave up their time to help with the event, whether it was to bake cakes, run a stall or those who were great sports and dared to go in the stocks – without them, this event could not have happened.
