General Hockey RHS

On Saturday four Junior teams travelled to Orwell Park:

Junior 1st XI v Orwell (L 4-0)
The junior first team came up against a very strong opposition and lost 4-0. Some great goalkeeping from Max Orr kept RHS in the game.

Junior 2nd XI v Orwell (W 4-1)
The junior second team came out resounding winners 4-1.  Captain Apakuki Daunakamakama made the difference on the day.

Junior 3rd XI v Orwell (W 1-0)
The junior third team won a close match 1-0. Some excellent defending from Hamish Comonte was the highlight for RHS.

Junior 4th XI v Orwell (W 2-0)
The junior fourth team made it three wins out of four at Orwell Park as they finished 2-0 winners. Some brilliant team play tore through the hosts at times with great style.

The U14s and U15s were away at Greshams:

U14B v Greshams (L 4-2)
The B team went 4-0 down in the first half, rallied in the second but fell short losing 4-2.

U14A v Greshams (W 1-0)
Xavy Bull and Charlie Kilham held Greshams at bay after a slow start.  RHS slowly came into the game through excellent link play from Ben Arulampalam and Will Christmas. Toby Lee,  Olly Leggett and Thomas Sumner were also excellent. RHS created lots of opportunities but the deadlock was finally broken when Zach Puckey scored with a smart finish. 1-0 to RHS.

U15B v Greshams (W 5-3)
The B team worked tirelessly to keep a fast breaking Greshams side under wraps and a very good all round display saw RHS run out winners 5-3. Olly Williams with 2 and Matt Saxby with a hat-trick, one of which is a contender for goal of the season!

U15A v Greshams (L 2-1)
The 15A team put together 60 minutes of great hockey making progress with their new formation. Ben Price chased down a ball to beat a Greshams sweeper and deliver a goal early in the first half. A hard-working defence kept the opposition at bay until they scored a late first half goal. In the last 10 minutes, Greshams secured the final score to win 2-1.

At Home against Greshams:

3rd XI v Greshams (L 2-1)
At home, the 3rds ventured onto wet and muddy grass losing 2-1. Greshams were the better side in the first half and at 1-1 the score was flattering RHS. Man of the match was shared between Tom Harwood and George Petrides. Captain Max Dixey also deserves a mention.

2nd XI v Greshams (W 4-0)
The 2nds produced a very well executed 4-0 victory; RHS dominated possession from early in the first half and remained in control until the final whistle. Fast interchanging of passes developed into moves straight from the training ground and goals came in open play and from penalty corners. Toby Eaton and Brendan Tait shared the goals.

1st XI v Greshams (L 4-1)
The 1st XI will reflect on missed opportunities against Greshams. RHS created some excellent opportunities in the first half but could not convert. Greshams scored early in the second half and RHS bounced back with a well-worked corner routine being finished by Man of the Match, Tom Miller. RHS began to tire, while Greshams stepped up to leave the scoreline at 4-1.
