The IMU Big Band will be performing in the Jellicoe Room at the Royal Hospital School on Sunday 24 November at 7pm.
The IMU Big Band was originally formed over 30 years ago to allow local musicians to play ‘Bug Band Jazz’ for their own pleasure. They have been one of the leading Big Bands in East Anglia for many years.
Their repertoire ranges from Big Band classics through to more contemporary arrangements by Chick Corea, Sammy Nestico, Gordon Goodwin and Maynard Ferguson, to name but a few. For the last 20 years they have been directed by David Bolton, a local trumpet player, music teacher and musical director. His is always grateful and appreciative of the excellent musicianship and dedication from the musicians within the band.
The concert will be held in the Jellicoe Room in the Main School and will include a buffet, a glass of wine and a complimentary programme within the ticket price.
Tickets cost £15 (concessions: £10 and under 18s: free) and can be purchased through the Ipswich Regent Box Office on 01473 433100 or by visiting www.ipswichregent.com.
