Business Studies and English as an Additional Language teacher, Tom Wood, recently returned to his old prep school, St. Margaret’s Preparatory School near Gosfield, as part of his Graduate Teacher’s Program (GTP). During this program he has been studying Phonics to aid in teaching English as an Additional Language. Tom spent the day with one of the Reception classes and he was impressed with how well the Phonics System is helping with their learning.
He said, “The academic ability of the pupils, who are still so young, is incredible. Everything that I’ve seen today – the teaching; the interactivity, the enthusiasm of the children – is fantastic. And the Phonics System is really positive with children sounding out some very advanced words for their age group.”
